DevOps Engineer to join the Innovation team.

Position summary: As a leading technology law firm, Cooley is determined to become a leader in the digital practice of law.
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for being a hands-on builder of the platform infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
The engineer will design, build, and manage cloud-native applications in our cloud environment.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, cloud infrastructure, and observability tooling across the engineering platform.
Respond to and resolve production incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures Maintain documentation for infrastructure, pipelines, and runbooks in support of SOC 2 change management controls Enforce and continuously improve infrastructure-as-code standards, ensuring all changes are version controlled, peer reviewed, and deployed through automated pipelines with no manual drift Collaborate with application and security teams to define and implement deployment standards, branching strategies, and release processes across the engineering organization Monitor cloud spend and resource utilization, identifying optimization opportunities and flagging anomalies to maintain cost efficiency at scale All other duties as assigned or required
Required
Skills and experience:
After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required Ability to travel, as required 4+ years of directly applicable experience designing, building, and operating cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines in enterprise environments Strong Terraform skills across AWS and ideally Azure Experience building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions (complex, multi-stage, with security gates) Hands-on experience with SAST/DAST (or equivalent tools) integrated into developer workflows and CI Experience configuring and administering APM solutions (i.e.
Datadog) including log management and SIEM features
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree Prior exposure to legal technology platforms or enterprise SaaS integrations Familiarity with SOC2 control expectations for change management and monitoring Experience working in regulated or professional services environments

Cooley LLP offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits program.

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $165,000 - $215,000.
Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
Senior level candidates may be considered for this position and would be eligible for a higher salary range based on experience.
