# Backend Software Engineer (Python/Django)
## About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer with strong Python and Django experience to join our development team in Amsterdam.
You will design, develop, maintain, and improve web applications and backend systems, including moderation dashboards, chat and feeds administration panels, internal tools, and integrations with external services.
This role offers the opportunity to work on software architecture, new feature development, production systems, and technical improvements in a collaborative engineering environment.

## Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python and Django.
* Build and implement new features in collaboration with the development team.
* Architect, design, and refactor software systems to improve functionality and maintainability.
* Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code.
* Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues.
* Monitor production environments and investigate performance or operational issues.

## Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience as a Backend Software Developer or in a similar backend engineering role.
* Strong professional experience with Python and Django.
* Proven experience architecting, designing, and refactoring software systems.
* Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
* Experience working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL or MySQL.
* Experience with Git and version control systems.
* Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
* Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a development team.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with JavaScript and web frameworks such as React or Angular.
