That’s Ontinue. Role Overview We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help build the systems behind Ontinue’s internal and customer-facing experiences. This is not a classic “just build APIs” role. You’ll work on services and systems that power product experiences, investigation workflows, and customer-facing platforms — with real business logic, storage, event-driven architecture, and performance-sensitive data flows. We’re moving fast, and we’re doing it with a strong AI-first mindset. That means we don’t expect every solution to be built in the traditional way. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools, open to new technologies, and eager to help shape a more efficient way of building software. The right person will bring solid engineering fundamentals, together with a product mindset and the flexibility to adapt how work gets done. Key Responsibilities Build and evolve backend services that support both internal tools and customer-facing experiencesDesign and implement APIs, event-driven workflows, and services in .NET / C#Work with Azure services such as Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and related cloud servicesHelp shape the systems behind products used by SOC analysts, internal teams, and customersContribute to backend parts of frontend-heavy product initiatives where business logic, data, and system behavior matterImprove existing systems while also helping create new services and featuresWork closely with frontend engineers, product stakeholders, and other teams to deliver thoughtful solutionsUse AI-assisted development tools in your day-to-day work to increase speed, quality, and leverageHelp us evolve how engineering works in an AI-enabled environmentContribute to our CI/CD and infrastructure workflows, including Terraform where applicablePlay a meaningful role in cybersecurity by helping make security operations more efficient and effective in a space that is always relevant Required Required Experience & Skills At least 4 years of professional software engineering experienceStrong experience with .NET and C#Practical experience with Azure and cloud-based service developmentExperience building or maintaining event-driven systemsSolid software engineering fundamentals, including writing maintainable code, understanding system behavior, and working thoughtfully with testing, debugging, and architectureComfortable working in a collaborative product environment where requirements can evolveCurious, adaptable, and open to working in new ways, especially with AI-assisted developmentA mindset that combines engineering rigor with product thinkingClear communicator who enjoys working across teams and sharing feedback Preferred A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related fieldFrontend exposure or experience working closely with frontend-heavy teamsExperience with automated testing and test strategyExperience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code workflowsExperience working on product-oriented software rather than purely platform/backend infrastructureExperience with distributed systems, microservices, or data-heavy systemsFamiliarity with modern developer tooling and AI-enabled workflow What We Offer We have been recognized as a top place to work!
