Position Overview Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Datacenter Engineer to own and support the physical infrastructure across our European colocation estate, including latency-sensitive trading sites, back-office datacenters, and microwave/wireless locations. You will be responsible for the full physical infrastructure lifecycle, from new deployments and hardware refreshes to troubleshooting, capacity planning, documentation, and decommissioning. This is a highly hands-on role requiring regular travel across Europe and close collaboration with Network, Systems, Trading Infrastructure, carriers, and colocation providers. Core Responsibilities Rack, cable, power, commission, troubleshoot, and decommission servers, storage, and network equipment. Deliver new datacenter deployments, hardware refreshes, site expansions, and connectivity projects. Act as the on-site escalation point for hardware, cabling, power, thermal, optics, and physical network incidents. Monitor and forecast rack space, power, cooling, and cross-connect capacity across sites. Manage cross-connects, remote hands, site access, carriers, colocation providers, and specialist contractors. Maintain accurate hardware, spares, cabling, rack elevation, and site documentation. Coordinate hardware shipping, RMAs, receiving, and asset disposal across European locations. Support microwave and wireless locations and supervise specialist contractors where required. Participate in change management, incident response, postmortems, and an out-of-hours on-call rota. Standardize infrastructure practices and automate repetitive operational tasks where possible. Core Skills & Requirements 5+ years of hands-on datacenter experience in a business-critical production environment; trading or other latency-sensitive experience is preferred. Strong server hardware knowledge, including rack installation, PDUs, firmware/BIOS, out-of-band management, and component-level troubleshooting. Strong structured cabling knowledge across copper, DAC/Twinax, and SM/MM fibre, including optical testing. Good understanding of colocation power, cooling, redundancy, and environmental monitoring. Basic troubleshooting and configuration experience with Cisco/Arista networking and Linux/Debian systems. Experience managing colocation providers, carriers, contractors, cross-connects, and remote hands. Strong project delivery, documentation, incident management, and stakeholder communication skills. Willingness to travel frequently across Europe and participate in on-call support. Valid driving licence and unrestricted ability to travel to and work at provider sites across the EU.
