In this role, you will:
Own parts of our core backend infrastructure, which is a complex, real-time distributed system written in Python and RustOwn large, complex initiatives end-to-end, including projects with incomplete or evolving requirements, and deliver them with minimal guidanceTake ownership of reducing our incident rateSolve stability issues and highly complex production issuesOwn the technical responsibilities related to our SOC 2 process, including managing the person responsible for its day-to-day executionConstantly improve our development velocity while maintaining a very high reliability standard
Requirements
Previously a Staff or Principal Engineer at a startup company10+ years of experience in Python developmentPrevious leadership experience, including leading teams and driving large, ambiguously defined projects from concept through deliveryStrong Python Asyncio experienceStrong software design skillsExcellent communicator in writing and orallyDeep understanding of Networking Protocols, Operating SystemsDeep knowledge of Python ProfilingExperience in delivering and troubleshooting a production-grade cloud-based distributed systemKubernetes and Helm experienceExperience with different observability stacksStrong LLM prompting skills, but also being able to work without themExperience with gRPC and its troubleshootingBSc in Software Development or equivalent industry experience
