Role Description The Staff Build Systems Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing build and deployment systems that support modern software development workflows.
This role involves creating and improving CI/CD pipelines, managing build infrastructure, and ensuring reliable, repeatable, and secure builds across multiple environments.
The engineer will collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, and product teams to automate processes, troubleshoot build failures, and enhance system performance and scalability.
Day-to-day activities include monitoring and tuning build systems, implementing best practices for configuration management, documenting technical solutions, and providing technical guidance on tooling and processes.
The role also includes contributing to long-term build strategy, evaluating new technologies, and championing engineering excellence across the organization.
Qualifications
Strong Systems Engineering skills, including experience designing, implementing, and maintaining build and CI/CD systems.Proficiency in Troubleshooting complex build, integration, and deployment issues across diverse environments and tools.Experience in System Administration for build infrastructure, including servers, containers, and cloud-based resources.Background in Technical Support for development teams, providing guidance on build tooling, configuration, and automation.Systems Design capabilities to architect scalable, secure, and maintainable build and release pipelines.Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).Familiarity with scripting and automation languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Understanding of software development lifecycles, branching strategies, artifact management, and release engineering best practices.Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and document technical processes.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
