Job Details
Yolk Digital is engaged by the Australian Federal Police to provide an experienced Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers and take responsibility for the quality and functionality of the software your team produces.
The work centres on designing, developing, enhancing and supporting the AFP's business applications, built on C# .NET, REST APIs, Oracle 11g/12c PL/SQL, JavaScript and VB6.
You'll analyse complex business and technical problems and recommend scalable, maintainable and secure solutions; produce and maintain solution designs, technical specifications and architecture documentation; and take software changes through the full lifecycle, working closely with the testing, release management and operations teams so that deployments land cleanly and systems stay stable.
DevOps is part of the role, not an afterthought: you'll manage CI/CD pipelines, write PowerShell automation, administer Citrix and keep improving the build, deployment and release processes.
You'll run code reviews, apply secure coding standards, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and defects, and monitor and tune application performance, reliability and scalability.
You'll work in a small team within a broader AFP Command, in collaboration with and under the supervision of nominated AFP personnel, partnering with business stakeholders, project teams and technical specialists to turn requirements into sustainable solutions.
