You'll own and improve our AWS platform, automate how we build and ship, and work shoulder to shoulder with developers to help them prototype, debug and deploy with confidence. If you get a kick out of solving tough infrastructure problems, stripping friction out of the pipeline and seeing your improvements go live in short sprint cycles, this is the role for you. (This role is know internally as DevOps Engineer.) What you’ll be doing: Keep our AWS infrastructure healthy, PaaS orchestration, build agents, and monitoring tools and dashboards across a mix of EC2 and Kubernetes-based containersDesign, build and automate internal processes, making heavy use of AWS, Terraform and a range of automation toolingBuild, maintain and troubleshoot our CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines, from Jenkins through to GitOps tools such as ArgoCD for KubernetesPartner with developers to identify, debug and resolve build, deployment and production issuesHelp developers design reliable, stable environments for new servicesGuide code through the software development lifecycle, particularly its promotion and deployment across environmentsMentor and coach team members and support leadership with day-to-day technical directionStrengthen our observability so we can detect and respond to incidents faster What we’re looking for: 3+ years’ experience in a Platform Engineer role, including commercial experience supporting Linux systems in a large-scale environmentA solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and ways of workingCommercial experience supporting applications running on AWS cloud servicesHands-on experience with Kubernetes and its surrounding ecosystemStrong scripting and automation skills to build and streamline deploymentsSubstantial hands-on experience with git and with Docker containersExperience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI or GitHub Actions) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and AnsibleAWS certification at Associate level or higherDemonstrated experience with agile ways of working, such as ScrumExcellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with developers and engineers Nice to have: Good understanding of Java, Python, Node.js or other software development languagesExperience with observability and application monitoring/profiling, using both open source and commercial monitoring toolsExperience with Agile, ITIL, security, audit, complianceExperience with SQL and/or DBMS optimisationVersed with cloud technologies and offerings (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Please note we are only able to consider applicants with full working rights for Australia.
