Mid-Level Backend Engineer (Netherlands ONLY)

Netherlands (No other locations will be considered) Candidates must currently reside in the Netherlands and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. Role Overview Orenda Finance builds regulated Banking-as-a-Service infrastructure powering accounts, cards, payments, onboarding, transaction monitoring, and operational tooling across multiple financial programs. We’re hiring a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to help scale our AWS serverless platform and build reliable financial systems used across multiple banking and compliance providers. What You’ll Do · Build and maintain TypeScript AWS Lambda services · Work across payments, accounts, cards, onboarding, beneficiaries, and transaction flows · Integrate with banking, KYC, card, and compliance providers · Extend Terraform infrastructure modules across our multi-region AWS environment · Write well-tested, production-ready code within a DDD + Hexagonal Architecture setup · Collaborate closely with senior engineers through reviews and implementation guidance Our Stack · TypeScript · AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, IAM · Terraform + Terraform Cloud · TurboRepo monorepo · Jest · Domain-Driven Design (DDD) What We’re Looking For · 5+ years backend engineering experience · Strong TypeScript experience (or strong Go/Java/C# background with ability to work fluently in TS) · Production AWS serverless experience · Comfortable reading and extending Terraform infrastructure · Strong understanding of APIs, async systems, testing, and software fundamentals · Able to independently deliver tickets and communicate clearly Nice to Have · Fintech, payments, or regulated-industry experience · Experience with monorepos, CI/CD pipelines, or multi-tenant SaaS systems If you enjoy solving complex backend problems and building modern financial infrastructure at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
