About The Role
The Web Developer within the Office of University Communications and Marketing is a key member of the digital team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining accessible, user-friendly websites and digital communications.
This role involves collaborating with project managers, content specialists, designers, vendors, and university partners to deliver websites that support marketing initiatives, recruitment efforts, and enhance the overall student experience.
The developer will primarily work with Drupal and WordPress content management systems to translate design mockups and UX/IA plans into fully functional, mobile-responsive websites aligned with WCAG 2.1 standards.
The position requires a proactive individual with a passion for web development, a strong understanding of best practices, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related fieldMinimum of three years of professional web development experienceProficiency with PHP, Drupal, and WordPress CMS platformsExperience implementing large and complex websites within content management systemsStrong skills in responsive web design, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, and front-end build processesSolid understanding of web development standards including performance, security, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1)Experience with code versioning tools such as GitHub or BitbucketFamiliarity with quality assurance and code validation toolsExperience with integrating third-party systems and digital analytics toolsExcellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a hybrid or remote environment and meet deadlines

Develop accessible, responsive frontend components based on approved UX/IA specificationsCreate and modify Drupal and WordPress themes aligned with design conceptsImplement backend functionalities for university websites within Drupal and WordPressSupport and enhance existing websites through updates and troubleshootingBuild content integrations with third-party systems and platformsParticipate in technical and functional planning for new projectsConduct quality assurance activities, including code validation and testingContribute to digital analytics implementation, including tag management and event trackingMaintain documentation of development processes and standardsCollaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure project success
