About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Application Developer (d/f/m) to join our Digital Operator Solutions team at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH. In this strategic role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications that underpin our critical operations. Your expertise will help shape our cloud infrastructure and software platforms, ensuring they are robust, secure, and adaptable to future technological advancements. You will serve as a key architect within our digital ecosystem, leading the entire lifecycle of high-performance, microservices-based applications from concept through deployment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of modern software engineering and enterprise IT strategy, contributing directly to the innovation and efficiency of our aerospace solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills and relevant experience, including proficiency in modern web development frameworks, cloud architecture, and microservices. Key qualifications include expert-level knowledge of TypeScript and Angular, extensive experience with cloud infrastructure—particularly AWS services such as S3 and Load Balancers—and hands-on expertise with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. A solid understanding of event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, as well as strong database management skills with MongoDB and NoSQL principles, is essential. Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, Agile methodologies, and experience managing third-party development teams are highly desirable. Fluency in German is required, with proficiency in English considered an advantage, especially for international collaboration. Knowledge of German security and governmental standards is also essential. Responsibilities Lead the full lifecycle development of microservices-based web applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards.Define and evolve the company's IT architecture, including software design and infrastructure, to ensure scalability, security, and future readiness.Apply ITIL best practices to manage IT services effectively, participating actively in incident, problem, change, and release management processes.Act as the technical liaison for external software development providers, overseeing deliverables to meet quality and architectural standards.Implement and enforce security policies through secure coding practices and rigorous application configuration management.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and developer productivity by evolving the tech stack and infrastructure.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of web applications within the broader digital ecosystem.Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices to keep our solutions innovative and competitive.
