Senior Java Software Engineer

HONG KONG - SENIOR JAVA DEVELOPER - FINANCIAL SERVICES An exciting opportunity for an experienced Java Developer to join an established financial technology firm building electronic trading technology used by some of the world's leading investment banks, private banks and wealth management firms. This is an opportunity to join a high-caliber, close-knit engineering team in Hong Kong, working on a modern technology platform where developers have genuine ownership and the freedom to explore new technologies. The role: You will be joining the firm's core engineering team, helping to design, develop and enhance its financial technology platform. The role will involve: Designing and developing Java-based services and new platform functionalityWorking closely with Product to design and deliver new featuresBuilding within a modern microservices and event-driven architectureWorking with REST APIs, messaging technologies and FIX connectivityContributing within an Agile / DevOps environment, including CI/CD, testing and release processesWorking with a modern cloud-native environment built on AWS, Docker and KubernetesHelping monitor and continuously improve the performance and reliability of production systems What are we looking for? The two key requirements for this hire are: 5+ years of hands-on Java / Spring Boot development experience2+ years of commercial FIX protocol experience Beyond this, experience across microservices, event-driven architectures, Kafka / RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and AWS would all be highly relevant. Strong knowledge of software design patterns, testing and modern development practices is also important. Why consider it?
