About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer specializing in C#/.NET to join our dynamic team at Riverty's Berlin location, with hybrid working arrangements available. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing innovative financial technology solutions that empower consumers and merchants alike. Our solutions facilitate flexible, customer-centric payment options, allowing consumers to choose their preferred payment methods while ensuring a predictable cash flow for merchants. As part of a fast-growing product and technology organization, you will have the opportunity to influence the development of new teams and contribute to the creation of revolutionary products that shape the future of FinTech. You will be integrated into one of our product teams, collaborating closely with cross-functional members to design, develop, test, and deploy robust software applications, APIs, and workflows. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability, security, and efficiency of our payment solutions, supporting our mission to deliver human-centric and sustainable financial services backed by significant investments. Qualifications What you bring: Hands-on experience with C# and the .NET framework, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.Proven expertise in developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based applications, preferably in Azure.Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems design.Deep understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.Extensive experience working with relational databases, especially SQL Server, and familiarity with ORMs such as Entity Framework.Practical experience with cloud development environments and tools.Knowledge of messaging platforms like RabbitMQ or Kafka in distributed architectures.Experience or familiarity with the FinTech or banking industry is advantageous.Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor, with sound judgment in reviewing and testing generated code.Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.Eligibility to work in Germany, either through EU citizenship or a valid work permit. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy maintainable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions, including applications, APIs, and workflows.Participate in the definition and communication of technical architecture and design decisions.Engage actively in Agile methodologies by attending and contributing to scrum ceremonies and planning sessions.Analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement solutions while maintaining comprehensive documentation.Apply industry best practices and standards to continuously improve code quality and system architecture.Collaborate with team members to foster a positive engineering culture, sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and adopting new practices to enhance efficiency and quality.Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of the software delivered.Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into the development process where appropriate.
