For more information visit: www.space42.ai, follow us on X and Instagram @Space42ai ROLE PURPOSE Own full-stack delivery, both React frontend and Java (Spring Boot) backend, across Space42 projects outside the dedicated critical-client engagement, which has its own embedded frontend and backend specialistsTake end-to-end ownership of features: design, build, and ship both sides of the stack without depending on a counterpart engineerWork across multiple concurrent projects, adapting to each project's existing architecture and conventions rather than imposing one standard approachBuild in data integrity, performance, and accessibility from the start rather than treating them as afterthoughtsCoordinate with other engineering leads and project-dedicated teams as needed to align on shared standards and practices across the organization RESPONSIBILITIES Design, build, and maintain features end-to-end across the React frontend and Java (Spring Boot) backend, adapting to each project's established architectureMaintain and extend frontend state management approaches without introducing conflicting patternsEnsure data integrity and correct transaction boundaries across concurrent backend operationsDiagnose and resolve issues across the full stack, from frontend rendering and state bugs to backend concurrency and performance issuesProfile and improve performance across the stack under real usage, not synthetic benchmarksEnsure UI changes meet accessibility standards (WCAG) as a built-in requirement, not an afterthoughtWork on the relational database layer (schema changes, query performance, migrations) with production-safe practicesDesign and consume REST APIs, owning both sides of the contract between frontend and backendCollaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers in Agile/Scrum on whichever project you're supportingApply change-management discipline appropriate to each project's risk profile, whether early-stage or already in production QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Strong React experience (5+ years) with a deep understanding of state architecture in non-trivial applications component state, context, and state management patterns at scaleStrong Java experience (5+ years) with a deep understanding of concurrency thread safety, locking, and race conditions the java.util.concurrent toolkitSolid grasp of transaction boundaries and data integrity in multi-user systemsExperience with Spring Boot for building backend servicesStrong SQL and relational database experience (schema design, query tuning, migrations)Track record of diagnosing and improving performance under real usage, on both the frontend and backendSolid grasp of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to implement them, not just audit for themComfortable reading and extending an existing, unfamiliar codebase across both stacksStrong understanding of REST API design, both building and consuming, including request/response contracts ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Comfortable working across multiple projects with different codebases, conventions, and risk profiles, rather than being embedded full-time on oneComfortable adapting to each project's existing architectural patterns rather than imposing a single standard approach everywhereGenuinely full-stack: expect end-to-end ownership of features across both frontend and backend on every project you touchCoordinates with, but does not report into, project-dedicated engineers; shares standards and practices rather than a reporting line NICE TO HAVE Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate delivery across projects, while retaining full ownership and review of what shipsPython experience OUR BENEFITS & PERKS Competitive compensation packages and comprehensive medical insurance to support you and your family.Wellbeing-focused initiatives and resources, designed to enhance your personal and professional life.Access to exclusive discount programs, offering savings across various lifestyle and leisure experiences across the UAE.
