Our partner is looking for a DevOps Engineer (Azure ARO) based in Canada.
This contract role focuses on building and operating secure, scalable cloud and container platforms in an enterprise environment.
You will work across Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO), infrastructure automation, and CI/CD.
The role combines hands-on engineering with operational support, automation, and DevSecOps practices.
You will help streamline deployments, strengthen platform reliability, and reduce manual processes through automation.
Working closely with development, testing, security, and architecture teams, you will contribute to robust and repeatable delivery practices.
The position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work on complex cloud infrastructure and enterprise automation initiatives.
Two contract periods are available, with both requiring Secret-level security clearance or higher.
Accountabilities
Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, supporting reliable and repeatable software delivery.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions for provisioning and managing Azure environments using technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
Build, containerize, deploy, and manage applications on Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO), including projects, deployments, routes, secrets, registries, and release pipelines.
Develop automated deployment and operational solutions for Power Platform technologies, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and integrations with enterprise systems.
Automate business, operational, and deployment processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability while reducing manual effort.
Administer Azure cloud services, including networking, storage, security, monitoring, and related enterprise capabilities.
Implement release management, environment promotion, deployment, and rollback processes to support controlled and resilient delivery.
Monitor infrastructure and application health using enterprise monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboarding solutions.
Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, container platform, automation, and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
Implement DevSecOps controls, including security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements across cloud and deployment environments.
Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, and automation standards.
Collaborate with development, testing, security, architecture, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational and business requirements.
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or in a closely related role.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline development and management.
Experience building and deploying Spring Boot containerized applications to Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO), OpenShift, or Kubernetes environments.
Solid knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies.
Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and enterprise cloud environments.
Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or comparable technologies.
Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Azure CLI, or similar tools.
Experience with Git, branching strategies, code reviews, and source control management practices.
Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational dashboards for cloud and application environments.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues methodically.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Secret or higher Government of Canada security clearance is required at the time of application.
Benefits
Fully remote contract position within Canada.
Hourly compensation of CAD 75–CAD 100.
Contract opportunity with two available durations: October 1, 2026–July 15, 2027 and October 1, 2026–April 30, 2027.
