Automation Engineer

About the Role We're looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join a growing technology team responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable digital solutions. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and driving continuous improvement in test automation practices. Automation Engineer Location is Leeds or London - 2/3 days Onsite 12 months contract Inside IR35 Active SC Clearance only Key Responsibilities Design and develop automated test frameworks and test scripts.Execute UI, API, and integration testing activities.Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.Investigate and resolve automation test failures.Contribute to automation strategy, tooling, and best practices.Support quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle.Key Skills Required Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Karate, Postman, or SOAPUI.Knowledge of Java or Python.Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.Strong understanding of software testing principles.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Knowledge of Cucumber BDD.Desirable Skills Azure cloud experience.Docker and Kubernetes exposure.Performance and security testing experience.Kafka, IBM MQ, or ACE knowledge.Banking or Financial Services experience.
