About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled WordPress Developer to join our dynamic technology team at Tata Consultancy Services. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative WordPress websites and applications that meet client specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions that are secure, scalable, and user-friendly. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in WordPress architecture, custom theme and plugin development, and front-end and back-end programming. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our digital projects, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience (3+ years) in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin creation.Strong proficiency in PHP, especially object-oriented programming principles.Extensive knowledge of MySQL database design, optimization, and management.Solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.Experience with modern frameworks and tools such as Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, Webpack, Gulp, and WP-CLI.Familiarity with REST APIs, Gutenberg block development, and advanced custom fields (ACF).Version control experience using Git and GitHub.Knowledge of DevOps practices, including environment management and deployment automation.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing stakeholder expectations. Responsibilities Develop and implement custom WordPress themes and plugins that align with client requirements and best practices.Create responsive, accessible, and user-friendly website interfaces optimized for speed and performance.Design and develop Gutenberg blocks and utilize advanced custom fields (ACF) to enhance website functionality.Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, CRM systems, and other external services seamlessly.Optimize database queries, implement caching mechanisms, and manage CDN integration to improve website performance.Maintain and troubleshoot existing websites, resolving issues related to security, scalability, and functionality.Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and implement security measures to safeguard websites against vulnerabilities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve development processes.
