About This Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer, DevOps to join our growing team that enables and accelerates H2O.ai customers. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable cloud environments while working directly with enterprise customers to deliver production-grade solutions in their cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on role for an engineer with strong cloud and DevOps fundamentals who is excited to grow in customer-facing delivery. You will collaborate with Customer Success, Enterprise Support, and Product Engineering to help customers successfully deploy production-grade solutions and continuously improve their environments. This position is based in Sydney Australia. What You Will Do Cloud Infrastructure & Platform DeliveryDeploy, maintain, and improve secure, scalable systems on AWS and Kubernetes.Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.Support reliability, performance, security, and scalability of customer cloud environments.Implement cloud security best practices across IAM, networking, encryption, and access controls.DevOps & AutomationDesign and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.Automate operational processes and environment provisioning.Implement observability frameworks including metrics, logging, monitoring, alerting.Manage release and configuration processes for production systems.Deploy and operate production-grade Kubernetes clusters.Troubleshoot and optimize containerized workloads.Work with tooling such as kubectl, Helm, ingress controllers, and cloud-native services.Customer DeliveryWork directly with enterprise customers and partners to support deployments and operational improvements.Translate technical requirements into practical implementation plans.Contribute to architecture discussions and continuous improvement recommendations.Support incident resolution and troubleshooting across cloud and Kubernetes environments.Collaborate with internal teams to surface product feedback and improve deployment experience.What We Are Looking For Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.2+ years of experience in cloud, DevOps, platform engineering, or related roles.Strong hands-on experience with AWS.Experience deploying cloud-based applications Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure.Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux, containers, networking, and distributed systems.Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles within banking or financial services is highly advantageous.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong learning mindset and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.Preferred SkillsInfrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormationKubernetes and container orchestrationCI/CD tooling: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similarMonitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud-native monitoringCloud security fundamentalsScripting with Bash, Python, or similar.How to Stand Out From the Crowd Exposure to GCP/Azure is a plus.Cloud, Kubernetes, or AI/ML certifications.Experience supporting AI/ML or data-intensive workloads.Familiarity with security, compliance, or data governance requirements.Exposure to Generative AI frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, MiroFish, OpenClaw, etc.)Why H2O.ai?
