The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to analyze equipment performance, identify reliability risks, and develop strategies that improve asset availability and operational efficiency. This part-time remote position is suited to an engineering professional with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities who can work with maintenance, operations, and technical teams to identify root causes and implement sustainable improvements. Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze equipment, system, and process performance to identify reliability issues.Develop and improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures, recurring defects, and operational disruptions.Monitor reliability indicators, failure trends, downtime, and maintenance performance.Develop reliability reports, technical recommendations, and improvement plans.Support Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), criticality assessments, and reliability studies.Evaluate equipment risks and recommend actions to improve availability and maintainability.Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and quality teams on improvement initiatives.Review maintenance data and identify opportunities to optimize asset performance and lifecycle costs.Support reliability-centered maintenance and continuous improvement programs.Ensure technical recommendations align with applicable engineering, safety, and operational standards.RequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Reliability Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.3+ years of professional engineering, reliability, maintenance, or asset management experience preferred.Strong understanding of reliability engineering, failure analysis, preventive maintenance, and asset performance.Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, reliability metrics, and maintenance optimization.Ability to interpret technical documentation, equipment data, maintenance records, and performance trends.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical reporting skills.Familiarity with CMMS, maintenance databases, data analysis tools, or reliability software is advantageous.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and engineering quality.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.Professional certifications are not required unless specifically relevant to the role.What We OfferFlexible part-time hours within a fully remote working environment.Competitive compensation based on engineering experience and technical expertise.Opportunities to contribute to reliability, maintenance, and operational improvement initiatives.Exposure to asset performance analysis, engineering systems, and data-driven reliability practices.Collaborative work with engineering, maintenance, operations, and technical professionals.Opportunities for continuous learning, technical development, and long-term professional growth.
