As an Expert Mendix Engineer you will be responsible for providing business process leadership using Mendix to build platforms, modelling software for our products and client deployments, and integrating systems with third parties, collaborating with analysts, product owners, architect and other team members to drive out the technical requirements for a solution. Main Job Responsibilities: Leads/participates in design, development, coding, UI, testing, installation and support of software applications, interfaces, tools and services. Work with architect and project team to create or update technical specifications and documentation. Diagram process design models using Mendix working from requirements documents created by business analysts. Provide effort estimates and deliver according to estimates. Verify other’s effort estimates and correct them if necessary. Review the process design of other team members and provide recommendations. Build reusable and custom components that can be leveraged throughout the organization. Analyze and work with documentation in UML notation Model, develop and assist others in the construction of software using Mendix Collaborate with the Technical Support Department in solving production issues and getting new software releases into the production environment Participate in appraisal processes of team members. Determine and document the impact of process changes and clearly articulate different alternatives. Collaborate with the Production Support Department in solving production issues and getting new software releases into the production environment. Support on the development of “Proof of Concept” projects as needed. Provide guidance and supervision to Mendix, Java, UI and mobile developers belonging to the department. Lead the proof of concepts and prototyping solutions. Educate the teams on design, construction and implementation using Mendix and Software Development best practices. Acting as a technical mentor/coach to all team members. Preparing or assisting with the preparation of technical proposals as required. Provide technical expertise and direction on solution delivery projects. Strong understanding of the software development cycles, coding, data mapping, user interface development, concepts and applications. Worked with BPMN Tools like Camunda or similar. Able to analyze and design solutions for provided requirements. Able to understand UML notation. Firm understanding of IT concepts (web services definition, user interface design and data use modeling). Experience on coding backend and frontend using Object Oriented Languages (Java, C#) and Scripting Languages (JavaScript). Experience using CSS or Boostrap for user interface development and styling. Able to analyze and design solutions for provided requirements. Able to understand UML notation. Firm understanding of IT concepts (web services definition, user interface design, OO design and data modeling). Solid understanding of Microservices Architecture. Preferences: Knowledge of programming or scripting languages: C#, Java, JavaScript. Utilities industry knowledge. UML, XML, Web Services knowledge. Certification in BPMN. Experience with some Low Code Platform: Mendix, OutSystems, etc. Certification on Mendix. Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, enhancing and documenting processes and BPMN models using modeling tools. 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, coding, maintaining software in an Object-Oriented Language. Some experience managing small teams. Interaction with external systems through web services/interfaces. Experience working in Agile/SCRUM methodologies. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or Similar. Travel: Occasional traveling for specific project requirements. Work Schedule: Avertra's local office schedule.
