As a Staff Software Engineer within the Credit Risk Profile Squad, you'll play a hands-on technical leadership role designing, building and operating secure, scalable and resilient services that support credit risk decisioning across the Bank. Working closely with product, architecture and engineering teams, you'll help translate technical strategy into high-quality solutions while mentoring engineers and uplifting engineering practices. Within the Customer Data Domain, the Credit Risk Profile Squad is building cloud-based services, reusable APIs and data products that enable scalable, real-time credit risk capabilities across the Bank. In this role you will: Design, build and operate cloud-native services, APIs and data productsDeliver scalable solutions that support credit risk decisioning.Contribute to modern service-domain and event-driven architecturesLead technical design, code reviews and complex problem solving.Champion engineering excellence across testing, observability and operational readinessSupport modernisation initiatives and migration of legacy platformsMentor engineers and help strengthen engineering capability across the squad We're interested in hearing from people who: Have strong experience building and operating software at scale.Bring expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.Have experience with distributed systems, streaming or event-driven architectures.Thrive in a "you build it, you run it" environment.Have modernised legacy platforms into cloud-native services.Enjoy mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.Are curious about AI-enabled engineering and emerging technologies.
