Location: Doha, Qatar (On-site) Nationality: Any Experience: 8-5 Years Employment Type: Full-Time About the RoleKalSoft is looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Solaris Engineer to operate, secure, and modernize Oracle Solaris and SPARC environments supporting critical government systems. The role covers day-to-day administration, patching, compliance, and leading upgrade or migration projects for environments approaching support deadlines. Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister Oracle Solaris 10, 11.3, and 11.4 environments, including SRU patching and lifecycle managementManage SPARC infrastructure, including T/M-series servers, Oracle VM Server for SPARC (LDoms), ILOM, and firmwareConfigure and support Solaris Zones, Kernel Zones, ZFS storage, SMF services, and IPS packagingOperate high-availability clusters using Oracle Solaris Cluster or Veritas InfoScale and support Oracle Database workloadsAssess end-of-support exposure and lead upgrades to Solaris 11.4 or migrations to Oracle Linux / RHELHarden systems against the NIA Standard and client security baselines, and remediate audit and vulnerability findingsAutomate routine operations using Shell, Python, and Ansible, while maintaining runbooks and disaster recovery proceduresProvide L3 incident and problem management, including on-call support for critical systemsRequired QualificationsMinimum 5+ years of hands-on Solaris administration experience in production enterprise environmentsStrong experience with SPARC hardware and virtualization (LDoms)Deep knowledge of ZFS, Zones, SMF, DTrace, and Solaris networkingExperience with clustering and disaster recovery for business-critical workloadsProven experience delivering at least one Solaris upgrade or Solaris-to-Linux migration projectStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in enterprise production environments supporting critical systemsPreferred QualificationsOracle Certified Associate / Professional – Oracle Solaris certificationRHEL (RHCSA/RHCE) or Oracle Linux certificationExperience with Oracle Database on SPARC and Oracle Exadata/SuperClusterExperience in telecom or banking back-office environments in the GCC
