Senior C# .Net Software Engineer

Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Senior C#/.NET Software Engineers to support application development and sustainment within an Australian Government agency. You will work across the full stack of application development within a small team, building and maintaining web applications and custom internal applications in a Microsoft environment. The work covers solution design, coding, database development, release and deployment, and Level 3 support of production applications. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable applications using C# and .NET Framework/.NET CoreBuild and maintain web applications using ASP.NET MVC, Web API and modern front end technologiesCreate and maintain database solutions using SQL Server, Entity Framework and related data technologiesDevelop responsive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScriptMaintain deployment procedures, code repositories and CI/CD pipelinesWrite clean, maintainable and well documented code aligned to established coding standardsParticipate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developersOptimise application performance and address scalability requirementsWork with testing teams to confirm quality before releaseProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developersDebug and resolve software defects and performance issuesMaintain and enhance existing applications based on user feedback and business requirementsMonitor application performance using logging and monitoring tools and implement improvementsDocument technical specifications and maintain system documentation Required Experience 5+ years of commercial C# development experienceStrong proficiency with .NET Framework 4.5+ and/or .NET Core/.NET 5+Experience with ASP.NET MVC, Web API and web application developmentSolid understanding of object oriented programming principles and design patternsSQL Server experience covering database design and complex query developmentHTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and at least one modern JavaScript frameworkExperience with DevOps practices, source control and CI/CD pipelinesAbility to take technical responsibility across all stages of software development and to plan and drive development activitiesExperience planning and delivering release packages, including risk assessment, post release review and rollbackExperience delivering systems integration between applications and building continuous integration capability Desirable Experience Experience designing complex applications, components and modules, including alternative design options and trade offsExperience taking technical responsibility for configuration development and deploymentAbility to advise on and select development methods and tools in line with agreed standardsAwareness of emerging technologies and their impact on an organisationPrevious experience delivering within an Australian Government agency Security Clearance Requirements Must be an Australian CitizenMust be able to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearanceAn active NV1 clearance is preferred Working Arrangements HybridCanberra Why Profectus Profectus partners with Australian Government agencies to deliver trusted ICT capability across complex delivery programs.
