In this role, you will support Analytical Application team by helping keep systems secure, interoperable, automated, and ready for operational use. You will work across systems engineering, software engineering, Information Assurance, testing, and DevOps to sustain mission capabilities and improve how applications move through development, integration, and production environments. A major focus will be maintaining reliable data flows between upstream and downstream systems while helping modernize applications. This is a strong fit for an engineer who understands that successful DevOps is more than pipelines. Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Could Include Provide DevOps, systems engineering, software engineering, IA, and testing support across environmentsSustain production capabilities and maintain interoperability with upstream and downstream systemsMonitor and troubleshoot system data flows across integrated mission platformsDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support repeatable build, test, integration, and deployment workflowsAutomate infrastructure and operational tasks to reduce manual effort and improve consistencySupport containerized applications and platform services using Kubernetes and DockerWork with development teams to refactor applications and services for deployment within the platformMaintain standards and policy compliance across supported systemsSupport secure configuration, patching, hardening, and lifecycle sustainment activitiesTroubleshoot application, infrastructure, integration, and deployment issues across development and production environmentsDevelop scripts and automation to improve platform reliability and repeatabilitySupport observability through centralized logging, metrics, dashboards, and alertingParticipate in system integration, verification, testing, and release activitiesMaintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, configuration information, and operational runbooksCoordinate with developers, system engineers, security teams, testers, and mission stakeholders to resolve technical issues and improve platform reliability Minimum Qualifications Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active. We cannot sponsor visas14 years of experience as a Systems Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexityBachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or universityFive additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degreeExperience supporting integrated software and systems environments through development, deployment, and sustainment Required Skills Experience supporting DevOps or platform engineering environmentsStrong Linux systems knowledge and command-line experienceExperience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated software deliveryExperience with Git-based development and configuration management workflowsExperience with containerized environments using Docker and KubernetesExperience troubleshooting distributed applications, infrastructure, and system integrationsExperience maintaining interoperability between upstream and downstream systemsUnderstanding of system data flows and service-to-service dependenciesExperience supporting software and infrastructure sustainment activitiesExperience working within security and compliance requirementsExperience with system integration, testing, and release supportAbility to automate repeatable engineering and operational tasks using scriptingAbility to analyze system requirements and translate them into technical solutionsExperience developing and maintaining technical and operational documentationStrong communication and collaboration skills across development, operations, security, and engineering teams Desired Skills Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar pipeline platformsExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AnsibleExperience with Kubernetes orchestration and Helm-based deploymentsExperience with Docker and container image managementExperience supporting cloud or hybrid-cloud infrastructureAWS experienceExperience with configuration management and automated provisioningExperience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languagesExperience with observability platforms such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, or PrometheusExperience with NiFi or other enterprise data-flow technologiesExperience supporting microservices and API-based architecturesExperience with automated testing and deployment validationExperience with secure platform hardening and Information Assurance processesExperience supporting modernization or application refactoring effortsFamiliarity with Agile development environments and tools such as Jira and Confluence Compensation Range: $176,000.00 - $226,000.00 This salary range reflects our current market estimate for the role. Final compensation will depend on your experience, technical background, overall qualifications, and alignment with the position.
