Role Description This full-time Software Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power EraTree’s operations.
Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing system performance, and ensuring reliability and security of trading systems and supporting tools.
The role involves collaborating with product and operations teams to understand business requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and participating in code reviews and testing.
The Software Engineer will also help improve development processes, contribute to documentation, and support production systems as needed.
Qualifications
Preference for candidates who have previously worked in financial technology or contributed to financial institution software engineering.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience taking features from design through implementation and deployment.Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, network security, load balancing, algorithms, and architecture.Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, building APIs and services with modern frameworks and databases.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and best practices.Experience with distributed systems, microservices, or high-availability architectures is an asset.Familiarity with cryptocurrency, financial trading systems, or fintech platforms is beneficial.Comfort with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
