About the Role
Join our fast-moving engineering group and start shipping code that supports more than 500,000 users from day one.
You’ll pair with senior engineers, contribute to customer-facing features, and work across backend, frontend and DevOps.
You’ll have a particular focus on building software and automations that power our finance and operations teams.
Working closely with our CTO, Finance Manager and operations teams, you’ll connect our core systems and databases with tools like Xero, automate reconciliation and invoicing, and turn manual processes into reliable software.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both software engineering and finance.
A dual degree in Computer Science and Finance or Commerce would be a great fit, as would a strong engineering background with a genuine interest in how money moves through a business.
In your first 6–12 months you will:
Deliver production features across the stack: backend (Python + Flask/FastAPI) and frontend (React/React Native).Build integrations and automations across our platform, databases, Xero, and reconciliation and invoicing tools.Work directly with our CTO, Finance Manager and operations teams to understand workflows, identify bottlenecks and build practical solutions.Prototype, iterate and optimise features based on real user feedback and metrics.Own small projects end-to-end: design docs, tests, code reviews, deployment and post-release monitoring.Bring fresh ideas to product and commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Build and ship features in Python and TypeScript as part of the engineering team.Automate financial and operational workflows, including reconciliation, invoicing and reporting.Use SQL and APIs to connect systems, investigate discrepancies and improve data accuracy.Build reliable, traceable processes with clear error handling and monitoring.Collaborate with engineering, product, design, finance and operations.Own code quality through tests, reviews and post-release monitoring.Harness AI coding assistants to speed up development, testing and debugging.
Minimum Qualifications
Recent or final-year Computer Science/Software Engineering degree (or equivalent) with strong academic performance.
Please include your ATAR (or equivalent) and current WAM/GPA in your application.Solid grasp of algorithms, data structures and Git fundamentals.Evidence of practical software work through internships, university projects, hackathons or open-source contributions.
