Job Description
The Cloud DevOps Engineer supports the Cloud Common Platform Team by designing and building enterprise cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform capabilities that enable development Teams to deliver solutions efficiently and securely.
They’ll leverage tools such as Terraform and GitLab to develop reusable modules, templates, pipelines, and policies that support cloud adoption and modernization efforts across the organization.
They’ll partner with application, Security, and Architecture Teams to deliver scalable, secure, and well‑integrated cloud solutions that align with enterprise standards.
The Cloud DevOps Engineer leverages strong technical expertise and a continuous improvement mindset to drive platform innovation, accelerate delivery, and support Southwest’s cloud transformation strategy.
Additional Details
This role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel for trainings, meetings, conferences, etc.
Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in an approved remote location, away from our Corporate Campus.
Please note, while this is a remote position, there is limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work off-site.

Responsibilities
Operate in a DevOps culture and team, responsible for architecture, design, development, implementation, and ongoing operations of new and emerging technology platformsImplement automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD)Lead the design, development, and evolution of cloud infrastructureEstablish and/or follow procedures and standards to ensure high quality and quantity of workEstablish or follow prioritization processes to drive work and has a sense of urgency about getting work completedConsult with stakeholders to specify requirements and solutions which address business challenges and opportunitiesServe as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, performing design reviews and consulting with your teams to ensure design best practicesMaintain business continuity and disaster recovery processesParticipate in system and acceptance testing to ensure that systems are functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integratedTest and implement system and enhancements using techniques that preserve system integrityMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from $119,900 - $133,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement.
For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
