Join a remote-first senior engineering team and take ownership of substantial parts of a production platform. You will work extensively with Node.js, React, and TypeScript, design systems and integrations, collaborate directly with product stakeholders, and share responsibility for cloud infrastructure and software delivery.
Highlights
Remote-first senior engineering environment with strong ownership and direct collaboration across product and customer-facing teams. The role provides meaningful responsibility for production systems, architecture, integrations, cloud infrastructure, and delivery.
Description
We helps insurance agencies build and keep licensed, well-trained teams.
Thousands of agencies use the platform to train and assess their staff, hire agents, track licenses and continuing education across every state they operate in.
Behind that is a small, remote-first senior engineering team, that works directly with product and customer success and deploys to production.
We have many interesting projects and challenging tasks and we need one more senior engineer to own a large part of it.
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who is at home in Node.js and React with TypeScript, has run software in production, experienced in designing solutions/system architecture and prefers owning an area of a product over picking tickets off a board.
You'll take responsibility for parts of the platform that agencies depend on every day, integrations with payment, CRM and learning-management providers that feed them.
You'll also share responsibility for the cloud infrastructure and delivery pipeline the platform runs on.
If you like understanding a business rule well enough to design the data model, build the API and the UI, and then watch it work in production, this is the role.
What You'll Build And Own
Build and ship production features end to end across a Node.js (TypeScript) backend and React frontends, from data model and API to UI, tests, deployment and monitoring.Own integrations with third-party payment, CRM, licensing and learning-management systems, including API upgrades and webhook contract changes.Maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines: services, capacity, networking, secrets, alerts and cost.
Roughly a quarter of the role.Operate what you ship: monitor, triage incidents, write runbooks, and run data fi xes and maintenance safely.
Core Requirements
5+ years of software engineering experience, with hands-on work in Node.js (TypeScript) and React.Experience designing and versioning REST APIs and the data models behind them, including migrations on live data.Strong relational database skills and SQL; PostgreSQL experience preferred.Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS preferred), infrastructure as code, and containerized services.Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and Docker-based deployments.Experience with event-driven systems: queues, webhooks, retries and failure handling.Comfortable supporting production systems: reading logs and traces, triaging errors, and writing clear post-incident notes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; able to explain trade-off s in a pull request or short design note.Ability to work independently in a remote, small-team environment.
NICE-TO-HAVE
Experience with payments or billing systems, or other correctness-critical domains such as insurance, fintech or compliance.Experience with CRM or identity integrations (e.g., Salesforce, OIDC/SAML).AI-forward mindset with active use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate delivery, while staying the engineer who controls architecture decisions and judges correctness.Python and SQL for data analysis and one-off data fixes.
