Lead Developer, Java and AI

Role – Lead Developer- Java and AI Technology – Java, Springboot, Rest APIs, LLM, RAG Location – Bad Homberg, Germany Role Overview We are seeking an experienced AI & Java Lead Developer with deep expertise in Java, REST API development, Spring Boot, and Generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader capable of designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale applications while driving AI-powered initiatives, particularly LLM-based chatbot and conversational AI solutions. This role requires recent and substantial hands-on development experience, with the ability to contribute immediately to project deliverables. Practical experience implementing AI/LLM solutions in production environments is a mandatory requirement. Key Responsibilities AI & Generative AI Development Design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI-powered applications and conversational chatbot solutions.Develop and integrate Large Language Model (LLM) based solutions using leading AI platforms and APIs.Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures for knowledge-intensive applications.Develop prompt engineering frameworks and optimize prompts for accuracy, efficiency, and business outcomes.Evaluate and select appropriate AI models based on business requirements, performance, scalability, and cost considerations.Implement LLM evaluation frameworks, model monitoring, and response quality improvements.Manage token usage, context windows, and conversation memory strategies for optimal application performance.Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify AI use cases and translate them into scalable solutions. Java & Backend Development Lead the design and development of microservices and enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.Develop scalable REST APIs and backend services following industry best practices.Design secure, high-performance, and maintainable application architectures.Review code, enforce coding standards, and mentor development teams.Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and solution governance.Drive performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization of applications.Ensure adherence to DevOps, CI/CD, security, and quality standards. Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and technical mentoring.Collaborate with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.Support estimation, planning, risk management, and delivery governance.Stay current with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
