Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our distributed, agile engineering team developing cloud-native services for Avid Content Core and MediaCentral.
This is a fully remote position based in Poland.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services and REST APIs, working across the full software development lifecycle.
You will collaborate closely with Product Management and engineers across Germany, USA, Canada, Poland, and India to translate requirements into reliable, high-quality solutions.
The role involves active participation in architecture and design decisions, code reviews, mentoring, testing, and continuous improvement.
You will work with modern cloud-native technologies, microservices, containers, databases, and messaging systems.
Key technologies and experience: Go, Java, Spring, REST APIs, microservices, relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, CI/CD, and software testing.
Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ,
Responsibilities
As a as an engineer of our distributed team, you will participate in SCRUM driven software engineering process.
You should have experience in building high performance, scalable APIs and be able to work closely with our product management to identity and decompose requirements, make sure your and Your team’s deliveries are of a highest quality.
This position will be responsible for delivering against the following objectives:
Ensure highest quality deliverables for Avid Content Core services;Ensure ongoing maintenance for Avid MediaCentral core platform infrastructure services and toolkits;Develop cloud-native back-end applications;Work in all phases of the software development life cycle;Collaborate and grow in a dynamic environment while working in a small, agile, and cross functional team;Develop, maintain, and deliver high quality code;Actively participate in architecture/design discussions and provide support for your teammates via code reviews, training and mentoring;Communicate and coordinate with our world-wide engineering in Germany, USA, Canada, Poland, and India.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Requirements:
8–10+ years of experience in backend software development, including prior experience in senior or lead engineering roles with significant ownership of complex systems and technical decisions.Proficiency in Java and Go, including advanced features and best practices.Strong understanding of object-oriented design.Extensive experience with Frameworks like Spring and Hibernate;Proficiency in database management including relational and NoSQL databases;Strong experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.Experience with micro-service architecture.Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker containers.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Capabilities:
Ability to use other programming languages such as NodeJs and C#;Experience in messaging streams (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMq);Experience in observability and container orchestration;Audio/Video asset management;Experience with Cloud Native, ideally in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud;Red Hat Linux System Administration.

Salary Ranges: MIN 185,848.80 to MAX 278,773.20 PLN/Annual
