We’re looking for a Manager, Site Reliability Engineering to lead 2 teams of 4-6 platform engineers with a wide scope spanning across Site Reliability and Developer Experience. The platform covers the full cycle of software delivery, from CI/CD pipelines to high-availability, scalable production environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and optimal performance of our global cloud-based POS SaaS platform, which is critical to our customers' success. This position is also responsible for driving innovative engineering solutions to improve the developer experience and for managing cross-department stakeholders. Please note this role is based in Canada. What you’ll be doing: People Leadership Coach, mentor, guide, and motivate a senior team of cross-functional cloud platform engineers Drive all cyclical people management activities, including performance management, goal setting, and individual development plans Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, innovation and high performance Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development Develop and execute a strategic vision for the SRE team, aligning them with the company's objectives and goals. Understand business units roadmaps and interaction across the business. Help define team’s vision, rationalize and prioritize projects with the emphasis on improving developer experience, production stability and scalability. Build and project manage the team’s roadmap, establish the processes to execute on it, and keep the team on track. Infrastructure and Automation Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure solutions for our global cloud-based POS SaaS platform, leveraging modern cloud technologies and principles. Drive automation efforts to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational processes, enhancing the efficiency of our systems. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with engineering, product, and SRE teams from other departments to facilitate effective collaboration and alignment on platform goals and initiatives Drive cross-org projects effectively Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, gather requirements, and address concerns, ensuring transparency and fostering trust. Please note that you may be required to take part in our On-Call rotation roster. What you need to bring: Proven experience working autonomously on projects across multiple streams of work. A track record of successful project delivery through high-performing teams. Extensive hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS and GCP. Proven expertise in orchestrating and managing infrastructure through code, streamlining operations and promoting automation. Experience across engineering and leadership roles. Ability to lead large teams across complex projects, and shape the strategic and technical direction of the platform engineering team. Ability to provide strategic direction and set long-term team objectives. Proven experience implementing improvements to processes that span across the boundaries of your own teams. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We reasonably expect the total compensation for this position to be in the range of $150,000 TO $185,000CAD.
