The Opportunity
Coltech has recently secured a major cloud transformation programme with a fast-growing FinTech, and we are looking for experienced DevOps Engineers to join the team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-impact engineering environment, helping to build, automate and operate the cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical financial products used across Europe.
You’ll work closely with software engineers, architects and platform teams to improve the scalability, reliability, security and automation of the organisation’s cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain scalable Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.Manage and optimise Kubernetes / GKE environments across development and production.Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support automated software delivery.Implement and manage GitOps practices and deployment workflows.Automate infrastructure, deployments and operational processes.Monitor and improve the reliability, performance and availability of cloud environments.Implement effective observability, monitoring, logging and alerting.Support cloud security initiatives, including IAM, networking and access controls.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues across production environments.Collaborate with developers, architects and engineering teams to improve the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle.Contribute to DevOps best practices, automation standards and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Strong commercial experience working as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer.Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Strong experience with Kubernetes, ideally Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).Proven experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.Experience with Docker and containerisation.Good understanding of cloud networking, IAM and security.Experience supporting and troubleshooting production cloud environments.Strong understanding of automation, deployment and infrastructure management.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience within FinTech, banking or other regulated environments.Experience with ArgoCD, Helm or GitHub Actions.Programming or scripting experience with Python or Go.Experience with GitOps and automated deployment strategies.Experience with Platform Engineering or Internal Developer Platforms.Knowledge of cloud-native security and compliance practices.Experience working in large-scale cloud transformation programmes.
