AVP Java Developers x2 – Greenfield Low-Latency Trading Systems We are seeking experienced Java Developers at AVP level to build and optimise high-performance, low-latency systems within a commodities trading environment from scratch. You will work on business-critical trading platforms where throughput, reliability and microsecond-to-single-digit-millisecond response times are essential. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on Core Java performance, system design and production optimisation. Key responsibilities Design and develop low-latency trading systems using Core Java.Profile, benchmark and optimise application performance.Reduce latency across critical execution and market-data workflows.Diagnose JVM, memory, concurrency and garbage-collection issues.Build resilient, high-throughput multithreaded applications.Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts and other engineers.Contribute to architecture, testing and engineering best practices. Essential experience 3–7 years of professional Java development experience.Strong Core Java knowledge, including concurrency, multithreading and memory management.Proven experience working on genuine low-latency systems operating at microsecond or single-digit-millisecond response times.Practical expertise in profiling, benchmarking and performance optimisation.Experience supporting highly available, business-critical production systems.Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and computer science fundamentals. Previous experience in electronic trading is strongly preferred. Working arrangements Hybrid role requiring three days per week in the office (Central London).Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
