Role Description The Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud-based data infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and managing cloud environments, monitoring system performance, and ensuring high availability and reliability of data platforms and services. The role involves collaborating with software and data engineering teams to optimize infrastructure for analytics, storage, and compute workloads, as well as automating deployment, backup, and recovery processes. The engineer will identify and resolve infrastructure issues, implement security best practices, and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of cloud operations. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Infrastructure skills, including cloud platform management (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization, storage, and compute resource configuration.Candidates should possess System Administration skills, such as operating system management (Linux/Unix/Windows), scripting for automation (e.g., Bash, Python), and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).Candidates should possess Networking skills, including understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, load balancing, and DNS in cloud and hybrid environments.Candidates should possess Network Security and Troubleshooting skills, including firewall configuration, identity and access management, encryption, monitoring, and diagnosing performance or connectivity issues.Relevant experience with data infrastructure (databases, data warehouses, data lakes) and cloud-native services is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
