The Opprotunity
AIR6500 is a focussed LMA activity that includes exploring advanced web-based technologies for a Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) – A system that will interconnect the defence platforms, systems sensors and effectors across the war fighting domains, land, air, sea, space and cyber.
As part of ongoing risk reduction, elements of a Joint All Domain Operational (JADO) command and control system will be explored.
Working as a Senior Software Engineer as part of an Agile Scrum team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of software integration features for both mission and mission support elements, including technical ownership of designated software features.
You will drive an industry best practice approach in a microservices based architecture.
You will be responsible for the integration of technical deliverables.
The SEIT team includes AIR6500 architecture, system design, cyber, specialty, integration and test teams, as well as key software and hardware leadership roles.
This team works alongside our Software and Hardware factory teams to ensure integration and design compliance to needs.
Key Responsibilities
Working within the SEIT team, you will undertake activities with customers and team to identify, analyse, select and apply concepts, technologies and techniques that are applicable to the technical development and integration of software products.
In performing this role, you will be required to actively support the agile development of complex technical solutions proposed by yourself and team Subject Matter Experts (SME), including the development of software to support the implementation of iterative and concurrent software integration across environments and platforms, whilst overcoming project technical issues within a large agile-at-scale team environment.
You will also be responsible for resolution of problems identified during the conduct of software development, integration and test of your products and support the development of junior engineering staff.
