Standard Job Description The Advanced Programs and Exploitation (APEX) team within Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a skilled software engineer to support ongoing programs and internal research and development efforts focused on remote sensing data processing, exploitation applications, and simulations. In this position, you will work on designing, developing, testing, and integrating software for remote sensing payload mission processing and edge processing hardware. This position involves design, development, maintenance, and testing of largely C++ with some Python code. This role will be developing new mission processing applications and working with legacy code utilized leveraged in other enterprise applications. The Selected Candidate Will Be Responsible For Designing and implementing software applications in C++ and other languagesMaintain & enhance existing code basesTroubleshooting and debugging issues with embedded software applicationsIntegrate, debug, and optimize software in cross‑functional teamsDrive CI/CD – build, test, and deploy pipelines Contribute to simulation environments that support algorithm validation Document design decisions, code, and test results Basic Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institutionDevelopment experience in C++.Ability to obtain a secret government clearance Desired Skills Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an engineering or scientific discipline.Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like KubernetesExperience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etcImage Signal Processing or Mission Data Processing ExperienceApplied mathematics or algorithm development experience Experience working with data structuresExperience with device driver development and low-level programming Experience with embedded Linux and real-time operating systemsActive security clearance Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
