Job Purpose
The Senior DevOps Platform Engineer owns the compute platform on which the group's services run: its design, its day-to-day operation, and its consistency across cloud providers.
The role is accountable for a Kubernetes platform that is cloud-agnostic, reproducible in code, and secure by default, and for the platform networking, storage, secrets and database connectivity capability that product engineering teams consume as self-service rather than as hand-built environments.
The role also owns the migration of the existing Docker Swarm and IIS-hosted estate onto the standard platform without disrupting the teams that depend on it, sequenced with the product owners of those workloads.
This is a senior individual contributor position within a small, senior team carrying group-wide scope.
It carries technical ownership rather than line management, and significant influence over the engineering standards adopted across the portfolio.
The group operates an AI-first model.
AI agentic tooling is the default means of producing work in this role, and the role holder runs it, directs it and remains fully accountable for reviewing and validating everything it produces.
