Description

We are looking for an Interim Junior Financial Controller to join our finance team on a temporary basis. This is a minimum 6-month assignment (with possible extension), starting mid-November/early December, for 24 hours per week. This is a hands-on role for a finance professional who is comfortable with daily accounting work while also contributing to month-end reporting and audit preparation. You will report directly to the Financial Controller and act as an extra set of hands across reporting, daily accounting, and audit support. What your role looks likeAssist with monthly financial reporting, including preparing schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation; Carry out daily accounting activities (processing transactions, bookkeeping, invoice handling, and related administrative tasks); Assist with actual vs. budget analysis; Assist during the annual audit — including rolling forward working papers, preparing sample documentation, and responding to auditor requests; Help maintain accurate books and clean documentation to keep daily accounting and month-end processes running smoothly; Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed; Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and documentation. What you’ll bringWe’d love to meet you if you have/are: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or working towards a professional qualification such as ACCA/CIMA); 1–2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration; Comfortable with daily bookkeeping/accounting tasks and eager to also gain exposure to reporting and audit work; Basic understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting concepts; Good Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables) and general comfort with accounting software; Organised, reliable, and comfortable working closely with and taking direction from a Financial Controller; Strong communication skills and fluent in English; Available for a minimum 6-month assignment, starting mid-November/early December; Available for 24–32 hours per week (flexible).
