As a Software Engineer, you'll build, enhance and modernise products used by thousands of customers, working alongside Product, Engineering and Support teams to solve real-world problems and deliver meaningful outcomes.
The Software Engineer plays a key role in designing, building, testing and supporting software that delivers exceptional customer and business outcomes.
You'll contribute across the full software lifecycle while helping Storman evolve its products, modernise its platform and maintain high engineering standards.
Salary
The annual salary range for this position is NZD $105,000 to $115,000+ superannuation.
What You'll Own
Design, build and maintain secure, reliable software across web applications, integrations and databases.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.Drive quality through testing, code reviews and best-practice engineering.Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.Contribute to platform modernisation, architecture improvements and continuous delivery.Support release activities and improve engineering efficiency through automation and tooling.
What You'll Bring
3+ years' experience developing and supporting web applications.Strong PHP and Laravel development skills.Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.Front-end experience with JavaScript, Vue.js (or similar), HTML and CSS.Experience building and consuming REST APIs.Knowledge of Git, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD practices.Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
It's a Bonus If You Have
Experience modernising legacy applications.Knowledge of jQuery, Bootstrap, XML, SOAP or AJAX.Exposure to cloud platforms, containerisation and DevOps practices.Experience in payments, financial systems or regulated environments.Experience with incident management and operational support processes.
