Ansible Developer - Job Description Location: Sydney/ Melbourne Residency: Australian Citizen Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Ansible Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in infrastructure automation, configuration management, CI/CD integration, and scripting technologies. You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and application teams to build scalable, secure, and reusable automation frameworks that improve operational efficiency and accelerate service delivery. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Collections, and Automation Workflows.Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management solutions using Ansible.Automate provisioning, deployment, patching, and configuration of Linux and Windows servers.Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.Create reusable automation frameworks and standardize operational processes.Develop Event-Driven Ansible (EDA) automations for infrastructure and application management.Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to automate operational tasks.Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation workflows.Create technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.Follow DevOps and Agile best practices throughout the development lifecycle.Required Skills & Experience Automation & Configuration Management Strong hands-on experience with Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Inventories, and Templates.Knowledge of configuration management and automation best practices.Experience implementing role-based access controls (RBAC) within automation platforms.Scripting & Development Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.Experience developing custom Ansible modules and plugins is desirable.DevOps & CI/CD Experience with Git-based source control.Familiarity with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.Understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles.Monitoring & Troubleshooting Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Experience with logging, monitoring, and operational support environments.Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing mindset.Agile/Scrum working experience.
