Work within the SCATS team (Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System), the world’s leading intelligent traffic management system, powering smarter cities across more than 200 locations globally.
Created by Transport for NSW, SCATS enables road authorities to optimise traffic flow across some of the most complex transport networks in the world using advanced algorithms, real time data, and high performance software.
SCATS is now undergoing a major transformation, evolving into a modern, cloud enabled platform to capture growing global demand and unlock new commercial opportunities.

The Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer role will
Lead the design, automation, and optimisation of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms.
Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
Partner with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud-native solutions that support strategic outcomes.
Manage and influence stakeholders across a complex matrix environment, balancing competing priorities and driving alignment on technical decisions and delivery objectives.
Champion automation, observability, and DevSecOps practices to improve platform performance, security, and operational excellence.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to ensure cloud environments remain highly available, secure, and fit for purpose.
The team also comes together in person for activities such as branch all-in days (Location Sydney CBD Office), training sessions, planning workshops and collaborative work.

About You
Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions.
Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar), DevOps practices, and CI/CD automation.
Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across complex matrix organisations and multidisciplinary teams.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, build automation tools, scripting languages, and software repositories.
Strong understanding of cloud security, DevSecOps principles, secure coding practices, and application security frameworks.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
