Senior Developer / Architect (HL7 FHIR) What's in it for you? · Long-term 12-month contract with extension potential · Work remotely from anywhere in Australia · Help shape the future of healthcare interoperability and data exchange standards Role - Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer / Architect to join a high-profile digital health program focused on developing and advancing national FHIR standards for healthcare information exchange. Working within a collaborative team of health and technology specialists, you will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining HL7 FHIR implementation guides and interoperability solutions that support modern healthcare data exchange across Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for a healthcare integration specialist with strong HL7 FHIR expertise who is passionate about driving interoperability, standards adoption and innovation within the health sector. Employment Type and Duration: Contract 12 months plus extensions Work Model: Hybrid / Remote Location: Anywhere in Australia Key Responsibilities · Develop, maintain and enhance HL7 FHIR implementation guides and specifications · Review, edit and build FHIR profiles, resources and implementation artefacts · Design and support healthcare interoperability and integration solutions · Collaborate with healthcare, technical and business stakeholders to define standards and requirements · Contribute to solution architecture and technical design activities · Develop and maintain technical documentation and implementation guidance materials · Support standards-based API and data exchange initiatives · Participate in workshops, stakeholder consultations and architecture discussions · Ensure solutions align with healthcare interoperability standards and best practices Required Skills & Experience · Strong understanding of HL7 standards and healthcare interoperability frameworks · Proven experience building, maintaining and enhancing HL7 FHIR implementation guides · Previous experience working on HL7-based programs or projects · Demonstrated healthcare integration experience · Strong understanding of healthcare information exchange and interoperability principles · Experience working with JSON and HTML · Solution design and technical architecture experience · Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions · Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills · Ability to work effectively within distributed and remote teams Qualifications & Clearance · Previous experience delivering HL7 FHIR projects is essential · Health sector or digital health industry experience is highly desirable · Experience contributing to healthcare interoperability standards or frameworks will be highly regarded · Relevant integration, architecture or healthcare informatics certifications are advantageous If you have what it takes to thrive in this role and want to know more, please reach out to Isha Khanna at isha.khanna@akkodisgroup.com Privacy Due to new privacy laws regarding the collection and handling of personal information, all applications must be submitted online.
