Field Service Engineer - Semiconductor Metrology - Japan

Position Overview / ポジション概要As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of Nearfield's metrology systems installed at customer semiconductor fabrication facilities (fabs) across Japan. In this role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, execute hardware and software upgrades, and troubleshoot issues that arise during wafer measurement operations. You will work closely with customers while collaborating with Nearfield's global service, technical support, and development teams. Beyond daily service activities, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of system reliability, uptime, and serviceability. You will also provide valuable field feedback and operational insights to support ongoing product and service development.Field Service Engineer（フィールドサービスエンジニア）として、日本国内の顧客Fab（半導体製造工場）に設置されたNearfieldの計測システムの安定稼働を担っていただきます。予防保全・是正保全、ハードウェアおよびソフトウェアのアップグレードの実施に加え、ウェハ測定オペレーション中に発生する問題の解析・解決を担当します。お客様との密接な連携に加え、Nearfieldのグローバルサービスチーム、テクニカルサポートチーム、開発チームとも協力しながら業務を進めていただきます。また、日常のサービス業務に加え、装置の信頼性・稼働率・保守性の継続的な向上に貢献し、現場で得られた知見やフィードバックを製品およびサービス開発へ還元していただきます。Why This Role Is Important / このポジションが重要な理由Japan is a strategically important market for Nearfield Instruments.
