Software Engineer – AI Hacking Agents Confidential Offensive Cybersecurity Startup About the Company A rapidly growing offensive cybersecurity startup is using AI agents to transform automated security testing. The company is developing an autonomous Threat Exposure Management platform that continuously maps organisations' digital attack surfaces, identifies vulnerabilities and helps security teams prioritise remediation. With a growing international team and backing from established venture investors, the business is scaling its AI and cybersecurity capabilities. The Role They are looking for a Software Engineer to join their AI team, working on advanced AI hacking agents and agentic security products. You'll combine strong software engineering with cutting-edge AI, building systems capable of autonomously carrying out offensive security tasks. The role offers significant end-to-end ownership, taking projects from initial idea through development, deployment and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Build and optimise AI agents capable of performing offensive security tasksDevelop LLM applications, agent harnesses, APIs and data modelsOwn projects from idea → MVP → production → iterationEvaluate agent performance using real-world security testingDebug and improve AI systems operating in productionRespond to production issues and improve system reliabilityExperiment quickly, learn from results and continuously improve the product What They're Looking For Essential: 3+ years' software engineering experienceExcellent Python skillsExperience building and maintaining production-grade Python systemsHands-on experience working with LLM APIsStrong ownership and ability to work independentlyComfortable working on ambiguous, high-impact projectsStartup/scale-up mindset with a bias towards shipping quickly Nice to Have Experience building AI agents / agentic systemsLangGraph, LangChain or PydanticAITypeScript, Go or C#Kubernetes, AWS or GCPOffensive security / ethical hacking experienceOpen-source AI contributionsAI research or conference experienceExperience building AI products within a startup or scale-up Tech Stack Python | LLMs | AI Agents | APIs | LangGraph | LangChain | PydanticAI | Kubernetes | AWS/GCP Location Amsterdam – 50%+ in-office Why Join?
