Piper Companies is seeking a DevOps Tech Lead to support a growing client in the government technology and cloud services industry.
The DevOps Tech Lead role is fully remote.
The DevOps Tech Lead role is ideal for a seasoned platform engineering professional with deep experience in Kubernetes, Argo CD, deployment automation, and building scalable self-service platforms for engineering teams operating in highly regulated environments.
Responsibilities of the DevOps Tech Lead include:
Define and drive the technical vision for Platform Services supporting FedRAMP High and IL5 environments.
Architect and maintain Kubernetes-based deployment systems utilizing Argo CD and GitOps methodologies.
Develop and standardize "golden paths" that enable engineering teams to efficiently deploy, operate, and scale applications on the platform.
Lead platform engineering initiatives focused on reliability, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
Partner with software engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and compliant cloud-native deployments.
Requirements of the DevOps Tech Lead include:
8+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, distributed systems, or cloud operations.
Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and large-scale deployment platforms.
Strong experience implementing and supporting Argo CD, GitOps workflows, and CI/CD automation.
Prior object-oriented programming experience (Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar) before transitioning into DevOps or Platform Engineering roles.
Experience supporting FedRAMP High, IL5, or other highly regulated cloud environments is highly preferred.
Compensation for the DevOps Tech Lead include:
$150,000 - $180,000 annually Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
