A fully remote senior DevOps opportunity for an engineer who wants to operate mission-critical AWS infrastructure in a compliance-sensitive environment. You will work with containerized workloads, infrastructure as code, automated deployments, incident response, databases, security, identity, and reliability across multiple environments.
Highlights
Fully remote senior DevOps role focused on mission-critical cloud infrastructure, production reliability, security, incident response, and modern infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation.
Description
We're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team, reporting to the Head of DevOps, and help run the infrastructure powering our lending platform that connects borrowers with financial institutions.
You'll work on mission-critical AWS systems processing thousands of loan applications while keeping production reliable in a compliance-sensitive environment.
This is a fully remote position open to candidates in Eastern Europe.
About the Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Lendflow, you'll work with the Head of DevOps on the infrastructure behind our lending platform — AWS environments that serve financial advisors, lenders, and borrowers.
Day-to-day work includes containerized applications on ECS, Terraform-managed infrastructure, and GitHub Actions deployments.
You'll be hands-on with incident response, database and search operations, and collaborating with engineering teams across production, QA, DR, and sandbox.
Security, identity, and SOC 2 are part of the job alongside the rest of DevOps — IAM, secrets, vulnerability scanning, and audit support — not a separate function.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure including ECS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, and other core services across production, QA, staging, and disaster recovery environments
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources, ensuring consistency across environments
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing, building, and deployment of containerized applications
• Monitor system performance and reliability using CloudWatch and related observability tools, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Participate in on-call / incident response, troubleshooting production issues and following through on root-cause analysis
• Support database and search operations for MySQL/Aurora, Redis, and OpenSearch, including scaling, backups, and operational incidents
• Implement security and compliance practices including IAM least-privilege, secrets lifecycle, vulnerability scanning (e.g.
Tenable), and hands-on SOC 2 work (controls, evidence, audit support)
• Manage identity and access with Okta (SSO, MFA, joiner/mover/leaver) in coordination with HR and device management
• Automate operational workflows using Python/Bash and existing internal tooling to reduce manual work
• Collaborate with engineering teams on deployments, integration issues, and infrastructure guidance
• Manage DNS and email infrastructure as needed (Route53, SES, SPF/DKIM/DMARC)
• Document processes and runbooks for operations, incident response, DR tests, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to DR testing, log review, and cost/lifecycle planning (version upgrades, right-sizing)
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
• 5+ years of DevOps/Infrastructure experience with 3+ years in AWS cloud environments
• Expert-level Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Container orchestration with ECS, Docker, and containerized application deployment
• CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance using GitHub Actions or similar
• Database/search operations experience with MySQL/RDS (or Aurora), Redis, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
• Monitoring and observability with CloudWatch or similar
• Scripting and automation in Python and shell
• Security and compliance: IAM, secrets management, and hands-on SOC 2 experience (having driven or co-driven a Type I or II audit is a strong plus)
Experience & Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Production systems experience, ideally in a regulated industry (fintech, healthcare, or similar)
• Incident response experience, including on-call and post-incident follow-through
• Track record supporting high-availability systems
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
• Fintech or financial services infrastructure
• SOC 2 audit leadership (evidence collection through report delivery)
• PostgreSQL, Redshift, Athena, or similar data-platform operations
• Serverless (Lambda) and event-driven systems
• DNS, VPN, and CDN (Cloudflare)
• n8n or similar workflow automation
• PHP/Laravel application familiarity for working with the API team
• Security certifications (AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, Security+, CISA)
• Cloud cost optimization
• Okta, Kandji (Iru), or similar identity/MDM tooling
