We are looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join a technically advanced engineering team developing high-performance power electronics and motion-control solutions for robotics, automation and industrial machinery.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with experience in servo drives, motor control and compact power converters who wants to work on highly dynamic, efficient and space-constrained drive systems.
The Role
As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, integration and validation of advanced power conversion and motor-control systems for robotics and industrial machinery.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing servo drive and motor drive systemsDeveloping compact, high-performance power converter architecturesWorking on inverter and DC/DC converter designs for robotics and machineryDeveloping and optimising motor-control strategiesSupporting the integration of motors, encoders, sensors and control electronicsSelecting and applying power semiconductor technologies such as IGBT, SiC and GaNPerforming electrical, thermal and system-level analysis and simulationsOptimising power density, efficiency, dynamic response and thermal performanceSupporting prototype development and laboratory testingPerforming validation, troubleshooting and performance optimisationInvestigating switching behaviour, losses, EMI/EMC and system reliabilityWorking closely with hardware, embedded software, controls, mechanical and systems engineering teamsSupporting technical documentation, design reviews and product qualification
You will ideally have:
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Automation Engineering or a related disciplineProfessional experience in power electronics or electrical drive developmentExperience with servo drives, motor control and/or compact power convertersStrong understanding of inverter and converter topologiesExperience with FOC, vector control or other advanced motor-control techniquesKnowledge of power semiconductor technologies such as IGBT, SiC and/or GaNUnderstanding of switching losses, thermal management and EMC/EMIExperience with high-frequency and compact power electronics designFamiliarity with simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice or similarPractical experience with prototype development, testing and validationExperience with industrial automation, robotics or motion-control systems is advantageousStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsA hands-on and structured approach to engineeringNative-level German language skills are essentialGood working proficiency in English
