About You You are a Software Developer with at least 2 years of professional development experience, ready to join AppDirect’s Firstbase engineering team. Whether you hold a degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or bring equivalent hands-on experience, you thrive on solving real-world operational challenges. In this role, you will help build and expand Firstbase’s platform, which provisions, tracks, and manages employee IT equipment from onboarding through return and end-of-life. You’ll write software used daily by our warehouse, procurement, and customer operations teams, as well as external customers. What you'll do and how you'll make an impact Implement and maintain features across Firstbase's product catalog, orders, fulfillment, and customer-facing applicationsBuild and extend REST and GraphQL APIs using Java (Spring) with guidance from senior engineers on design and approachWork with PostgreSQL and messaging systems (Kafka, SQS/SNS) as part of the platform stackContribute technical designs for assigned features and stories, and explain trade-offs to teammatesOwn the quality lifecycle for the work you deliver: write tests at the right layer (unit, integration, and end-to-end), participate in code review, shepherd changes through delivery, and follow through on issues after release. Quality is a shared responsibility across product, engineering, and quality engineeringPartner closely with Firstbase operations (warehouse, procurement, and fulfillment), first-class stakeholders in what we build. Translate their workflows and constraints into software that works in productionParticipate in team delivery practices and give and receive feedback activelyAI-assisted development: use coding agents for bounded tasks with review. The salary band listed below reflects the expected annual base salary or OTE (on-target earnings) for this role at AppDirect and may be subject to change.Base salary or OTE is just one component of AppDirect’s total compensation package. In addition to base pay, regular employees may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and a full range of benefits.
