We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, scale, and maintain high-throughput, mission-critical distributed systems serving millions of concurrent users.
In this role, you will lead the architecture of core platform domains—ranging from high-frequency real-time event streaming and financial ledgers to complex sports data ingestion pipelines and identity services.
Key Responsibilities
Scalable Architecture & Design: Architect resilient, low-latency microservices in Go capable of handling peak burst traffic during high-profile live events.
High-Throughput Streaming & Real-Time Engines: Build and optimize end-to-end data ingestion pipelines, WebSocket/SSE engines, and event streams for real-time match processing, analytics, and instant state synchronization.
Transactional Integrity & Financial Systems: Design double-entry wallet/ledger architectures, token economies, and payment pipelines with strict zero-loss consistency, idempotency, and auditability.
Data Layer Optimization: Own database modeling, partitioning strategies (sharding/range partitioning), query optimization, and connection lifecycle management in high-load PostgreSQL environments.
Platform Security & Compliance: Enforce enterprise-grade security standards across identity (OAuth 2.0/OIDC), PII protection, and compliance boundaries (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, KYC).
System Reliability & Observability: Implement comprehensive distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting to maintain 99.99% system availability under volatile loads.
Technical Leadership: Lead system design reviews, drive engineering best practices, and mentor intermediate engineers across backend squads.
Qualifications & Experience
Scale & Distributed Systems: 5+ years of production experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems handling high QPS and millions of active users.
