Description

Do you want to build digital products that make a meaningful difference across Novo Nordisk's global operations? Are you a highly experienced software engineer who enjoys working across the full technology stack while helping shape the future of modern cloud-based solutions? If so, this could be your opportunity to join a team where your technical expertise will directly influence how thousands of colleagues plan and operate critical business activities every day. Your new role As a full-stack developer for NN Planner, you will help shape, develop, and drive the implementation of digital solutions in Planning Solutions, ultimately addressing some of the biggest business opportunities we have at Novo Nordisk. You will join a small agile team that develops Novo Nordisk’s workforce planning solution, focused on improving efficiency across production, QA, QC laboratories, warehouses, and other functions. We do this using a tech stack consisting of AWS services, a containerised Python backend and a frontend web application using React/TypeScript. Our application has more than 4,000 users and we expect our user base to double within the coming years. We are looking for someone who is experienced in both React/TypeScript and Python, enjoys rolling up their sleeves, and is eager to shape the current and future NN Planner - someone who can discuss long-term architectural strategy in the morning and spend the afternoon improving a Python service, designing a PostgreSQL migration strategy, or reviewing a complex pull request. Your Responsibilities Will Include Contribute to a production Python backend, balancing ongoing feature delivery, quality improvements, and the migration from legacy patterns to modern architecture.Build and evolve our frontend application by developing maintainable, type-safe React/TypeScript solutions, shaping frontend architecture and API boundaries, and ensuring a responsive and reliable user experience as the platform scales.Write and review production code daily, helping to define best practices for how we build, test, and deploy software.Evolve our data layer by improving schema design, query performance, and migration strategies in PostgreSQL using SQLAlchemy 2.0 and Alembic, including zero-downtime migrations in live production environments.Modernise legacy systems incrementally using approaches such as the Strangler Fig pattern, while maintaining uninterrupted service for users.Manage and evolve our AWS infrastructure (ECS Fargate, ECR, ALB, S3, IAM, and SSM) using Terraform, with a strong focus on reproducibility and consistency across environments.Drive a strong quality culture by maintaining comprehensive automated testing with pytest, including unit, integration, and BDD-style tests that support compliance requirements within our QMS.Share knowledge and support the growth of fellow engineers by contributing meaningful code reviews, strengthening technical practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. We build end-to-end digital solutions on AWS using Python and React/TypeScript, supported by CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery. As part of Novo Nordisk’s digital transformation journey, we encourage you to challenge existing approaches, drive innovation, and help raise engineering standards across the organisation. Your new department Planning Solutions is part of the Enterprise Platforms organisation at Novo Nordisk — the team responsible for the digital platforms that power Novo Nordisk's operations at scale.
